Scott A. Schoen is co-president of Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P.
Thomas H. Lee Partners is one of the oldest and most successful private equity investment firms in the world. THL Partners is focused on generating and leading leveraged acquisitions of large growth-oriented companies, primarily North American based, with enterprise values of $1 billion to $15 billion. THL Partners has total assets under management in excess of $15 billion. It is currently investing Thomas H. Lee Equity Partners VI, with closed and committed capital of approximately $8 billion. During its history, THL Partners has invested more than $10 billion of capital in acquisitions with total enterprise value in excess of $100 billion. THL Partners has delivered a 30-year track record of performance in the top decade of the private equity industry. Notable transactions include Warner Music Group; VNU Inc.; Dunkin Brands, Inc.; Houghton Mifflin Company; Simmons Bedding Company; Fisher Scientific International, Inc.; and Nortek Inc.
Mr. Schoen joined Thomas H. Lee Partners in 1986. Prior to that time he was in the private finance department of Goldman, Sachs & Co. He received a BA in history from Yale University, a JD from Harvard Law School and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. Mr. Schoen’s current and former corporate board directorships include VNU Inc.; Spectrum Brands, Inc.; Simmons Bedding Company; Transwestern Publishing, LP; Axis Specialty Ltd.; and Rayovac Corporation; among others. Mr. Schoen is a trustee of the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Network, a member of the Board of Advisors of the Yale School of Management, and a member of the Yale Development Board.
