Mr. Kelley is the president and a founding partner of Vestar Capital Partners, a New York–based private equity firm with offices in Denver, Boston, Paris, Milan, and Tokyo. Vestar currently manages four private equity funds with investable assets of approximately $6 billion.
Mr. Kelley joined the First Boston Corporation in 1983. Prior to First Boston, he practiced law with a leading Colorado law firm. He is a director of various companies in which Vestar has an equity investment. He is a trustee of the Denver Art Museum, The Denver Foundation, and the Colorado Conservation Trust.
He holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, a JD from the University of Notre Dame, and a BS from the University of Northern Colorado.
Originally from Colorado, Jim is married with three children and lives in Denver.
