Dean's Message
Summer greetings from New Haven. Summer is usually a quiet time here at Yale SOM. Graduates say their farewells and rising second years spread out across the globe for their summer internships. Faculty, working on papers or research or new course preparations, make only infrequent appearances on Hillhouse Avenue. Staff members take advantage of the summer lull to catch up on projects and prepare for the coming academic year.

Yale SOM Launches Governance Center with Largest Gift in School's History
At the opening dinner for the Yale Governance Forum, which took place on June 12, 2006, Dean Joel M. Class of 2006 "Raises the Roof"
This spring, the Class of 2006 sent a strong message about its belief in the future of Yale SOM. In their annual class gift campaign, the second-year students pledged a record-breaking $215,557, with 72 percent of the class making a gift to the Yale SOM Alumni Fund. The slogan for this year’s class gift program was “Raise the Roof,” and, accordingly, students elected to direct the majority of their support to the design and construction of the new Yale SOM campus.

Loan Forgiveness Program Revised
The Yale School of Management’s Loan Forgiveness Program was the first program of its kind when launched in 1986, and thanks to a recent overhaul, it is once again leading the field.

Two Reunion Weekends Planned for Fall 2006
We look forward to celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Class of 1981 on September 15 and 16, and the 20th, 15th, 10th, and 5th anniversaries of the Classes of 1986, 1991, 1996, and 2001 on October 13 and 14. Each weekend will include special festivities for each class, including the Class Dinner, opportunities to talk with the faculty and the Dean, and plenty of time to re-connect with classmates. Class websites with more information, including online registration, will go live soon.
