The chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, a former treasury secretary, an alternative energy CEO, and the executive editor for Wall Street Journal Online spoke to SOM audiences recently to discuss issues including foreign policy, energy production, the changing nature of American CEOs, and healthcare.

Shawn Liu '07Shirts that Fit
Shawn Liu '07, a finalist in BusinessWeek's Best Young Entrepreneurs contest, got the idea to create a custom tailoring business from a series of trips he took to China. Hillhouse Tailors (named for the historic street that runs through the SOM campus) launched this spring with SOM students as the first customers.

"We've had some real critical, defining moments," says Trish Karter, on the history of Dancing Deer Baking Company, a maker of all-natural cookies and cakes. "Happily, my instincts have always been to do and be who we are and not lose sight of that."
