Information on Yale SOM Commencement 2012

On May 21, 2012, members of the Class of 2012 will receive their MBAs from the Yale School of Management. The diploma ceremony, scheduled to begin at approximately 12:45 p.m. in Caulkins Courtyard, is the culmination of several days of events. Below is a schedule of Yale SOM-related commencement activities.

Reception for the Class of 2012 and Partners
Hosted by the Dean and Faculty of SOM
GM Room: 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

Class Dinner for Members of the Class of 2012
New Haven Lawn Club: 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Please note: The Class Dinner is only for members of the class.
Reservations must be made in advance; no tickets "at the door."

Friday, May 18
Commencement Rehearsal for Graduates
with brunch hosted by Alumni Relations
Caulkins Courtyard, 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Sunday, May 20
Yale Campus Tours for Graduates and Guests
Tours are led by University campus guides, and leave from the front steps of Steinbach Hall (52 Hillhouse) at 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. No tickets required

Lighthouse Point Park, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

At the conclusion of the University ceremony, please proceed immediately to Caulkins Courtyard. From Phelps Archway, turn left onto College Street and proceed along College Street past Elm and Wall Streets. Turn right onto Grove Street and then take a left onto Hillhouse Avenue. Proceed up the street to 52 Hillhouse (on the left) and follow signs to Caulkins Courtyard for the Yale SOM ceremony.

TV broadcast of the University Commencement Ceremony at SOM
Family and friends are welcome to view the University Commencement ceremony on television at SOM via cable TV broadcast in the Hall of Mirrors and A-level classrooms.

Photography
A professional photographer will capture images of the graduates as they receive their diplomas from the Dean (graduates will be contacted after Commencement when these photos become available.) A small area near the stage will be reserved for family and friends who wish to take photographs during the ceremony. Space is limited; please be respectful of others.

Commencement Day Rain Contingency
If there is serious rain or other severe weather on Commencement day, the SOM diploma ceremony will be postponed to 3:00 pm and will be held in Woolsey Hall (corner of Grove and Prospect Streets). An email will be sent from SAS to all members of the SOM Community by 8:30 am on Commencement morning if such a move becomes necessary.
