SOMAA Update: New Directors and Annual Meeting

The Yale SOM Alumni Association (SOMAA) connects members of Yale SOM alumni community to each other and to the school. SOMAA board directors serve for three years, acting as liaisons to Yale SOM administrators and the dean and helping to create initiatives to strengthen the alumni community and the school.

In elections held online in March, the Yale SOM alumni body elected six new board directors and two alternates. Congratulations to our incoming SOMAA Board Directors and alternates, and thank you to all of the alumni who voted.

Annual Meeting
The 2012 SOMAA Annual Meeting will be held April 20, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m. in New Haven; all alumni are welcome.

Join your fellow alumni for dinner and drinks, as well as the presentation of the annual SOMAA Teaching Award to Professors Ravi Dhar (winner of the award for elective teaching) and James Levinsohn (winner of the award for core curriculum teaching). Professor Dhar and Professor Levinsohn will each give a talk about their work. The second annual Leadership Award for Volunteer Service will also be presented to three alumni in recognition of their outstanding service to the SOM community.

Following the awards presentations, members of the board will discuss progress on the strategic initiatives of the association, introduce newly elected members to the board, and thank outgoing members.
