Round 1 Update and Round 2 Resources

This is a very busy time here in the Admissions Office. We are roughly half-way between the Round 1 application deadline and our December 16 decision release date, and are in the midst of reading applications and extending interview invitations. It’s also an exciting time for us, as we get to know so many fascinating individuals and share our enthusiasm for the Yale SOM community.

For those of you who have already completed an interview or who have yet to hear from us, we understand that the waiting process is not easy; we thank you for your continued patience. We read through applications in random order, and will continue to extend invitations for interviews throughout the round. Indeed, we still have a good number of Round 1 interview slots remaining.

If you are looking ahead to our upcoming January 6 Round 2 application deadline, we strongly encourage you to plan ahead in finalizing all the components of your application, as the holiday season and the New Year are hectic periods for many people. We have several resources to help you:

• At noon today, we will host an Application Tips Chat for candidates looking to gain insights into the Yale SOM application.
• We will also be hosting two industry-focused events: a December 1 Finance at SOM Chat and a December 7 Consulting at SOM Chat.
• On December 3, we will hold a Yale SOM Open House, an opportunity to visit the campus and meet faculty, students, and alumni.
• Additionally, for college seniors who are interested in applying to the Silver Scholars Program, we will be hosting a December 8 Silver Scholar Chat. (And you can read a profile of one of the first Silver Scholars, entrepreneur Max Ventilla, in this issue of the newsletter.)
