Sorenson on Economic Geography
Olav Sorenson, professor of organizational behavior at Yale SOM, has done a series of studies examining the factors that cause businesses to locate in a particular region and to thrive or fail there, a field called economic geography.
Most recently, Sorenson has examined the effects of venture capital on entrepreneurship in a region, and the factors, including enforcement of employment law and federal funding of research, that cause venture capital to be more or less effective in driving economic activity.
