Ninth Annual SOM Private Equity Conference to Focus on "Expanding Horizons"

New Haven, Conn., October 27, 2009 — Private equity professionals will gather for the Yale School of Management Private Equity Conference in Greenwich, Connecticut on November 6. The annual event, hosted by the Yale SOM Private Equity Club, is one of the largest student run private equity conferences in the country.

This year’s conference, titled "Expanding Horizons," will focus on the trends and opportunities for private capital that have emerged from the extraordinary market conditions of the past year.

Keynotes will be delivered by David Jackson ’93, CEO, Istithmar World Capital; John Howard ’80, CEO, Irving Place Capital; and Dan O’Connell ’80, founder and CEO, Vestar Capital Partners.

Panels will address topics including: the global sourcing and deployment of private capital; regulation in finance and private equity; perspectives from limited partners; opportunities in the renewable energy and infrastructure space; the secondary market and distressed investing; and the current climate for venture capital. The panelists are leading industry practitioners from firms including The Carlyle Group; Alvarez & Marsal; WL Ross & Co.; AEA Investors; Aetna; Blockbuster Inc.; J.C. Flowers & Co. LLC; Ernst & Young; Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, LLP; Winchester Capital Partners; Elm Street Ventures; Trevi Health Ventures; and the Rhône Group LLC.
