2009 Fall Reunion Weekend
Nearly 500 alumni, guests, and family were welcomed back to the Yale SOM campus for the 2009 Reunion Weekend September 11-13, 2009. SOM alumni from the Classes of 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, and 2004 took part in the weekend's festivities to celebrate with their classmates their 30th, 25th, 20th, 15th, 10th, and 5th anniversary reunions.
The weekend was kicked off with a Friday night barbecue on the SOM campus in Caulkins Courtyard. Saturday offered alumni the opportunity to interact with SOM faculty at the Class Breakfast as well as several faculty presentations on a variety of case studies taught in the Yale SOM integrated MBA curriculum.
Professor Constance Bagley presented a case from her State & Society course, "British Petroleum and the TNK Joint Venture." An Operations case on "Netflix" was presented by Dean Sharon Oster and Professor Art Swersey. A case study titled, "Brandeis University and Rose Art Museum" featured our Integrated Leadership Perspectives course, and was presented by Professor William Goetzmann and Dean Oster. Other faculty led discussions included "Firing Back: Overcoming Adversity through Courage, Character, and Competence" with Senior Associate Dean Jeffrey Sonnenfeld. Assistant Professor Cade Massey led a thought-provoking discussion on "Life Transitions" Significance in our Personal Lives."
Senior staff also led lively discussions on social networking, alumni career services, and provided insights into the undergraduate college admissions process.
The Class Reception and Gala Dinner was followed by the All Class Social Hour at The Study at Yale. A Sunday Brunch marked the end of the reunion weekend. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Class Reunion Committees who generously gave their time, effort, and enthusiastic support to ensure the 2009 Fall Reunion Weekend was a success and a special time for all alumni.
