Class of 2010: Starting Classes
For new SOM students, the first six weeks of the school year are intense, packed with new classes, speakers, club events, and social outings. The centerpiece of the initial period is Orientation to Management, a cluster of six core courses that introduce basic language, concepts, tools, interpersonal skills, career focus, and problem-framing methodologies that will be drawn on broadly throughout the curriculum but are not easily introduced in subsequent courses. The courses lead into the Organizational Perspectives, which comprise the bulk and heart of the first year of the Yale integrated MBA curriculum.
Over the course of this year, we will be following nearly a dozen students as they navigate their first year in the SOM MBA program. For the second installment, four students — Michael Barker, Corey Probst, Yash Shah, and Randi Wiggins — discuss their path through the initial six weeks of the curriculum.
Listen to Michael, Corey, Yash, and Randi discuss their first set of SOM courses.
