Developing Security Solutions

Posted on: November 13, 2008

Scholars from the Yale School of Management and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology are using the tools of operations research to approach problems in the area of counterterrorism and homeland security. The three-year partnership is supported by a gift from Daniel Rose, chairman of Rose Associates, Inc. and a 1951 graduate of Yale College.

Boaz Golany, the Dean and Samuel Gorney Professor of Engineering in the William Davidson Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technion, and one of the principal investigators on the project, recently visited New Haven, where he delivered a talk at a workshop and met with his collaborator Edward Kaplan, the William N. and Marie A. Beach Professor of Management Sciences, Professor of Public Health, and Professor of Engineering at Yale.
