Audio Feature: Behavioral Finance

Nicholas Barberis, the Stephen and Camille Schramm Professor of Finance, is a specialist in behavioral finance, the investigation of whether some financial phenomena might be the result of less than fully rational behavior by some market participants. Barberis is one of a half-dozen Yale Management faculty investigating various aspects of behavioral impacts on economics, making the school one of the world’s leaders in this emerging and important discipline. On April 20, 2007, Barberis explained behavioral finance to a group of prospective students during Welcome Weekend.
