Institutional Investor Honors Alumni for Excellence in Investment Management
Yale School of Management alumni D. Ellen Shuman ’84 and Andrew Golden ’89 took home two of the four awards bestowed by Institutional Investor magazine in its 2006 Awards for Excellence in Investment Management. The awards honor the outstanding achievements of executives who manage U.S. pension plans, endowments, and foundations.
Shuman, vice president and chief investment officer of the Carnegie Corporation, and Golden, president of the Princeton University Investment Company, won in the Foundation of the Year and Endowment of the Year categories, respectively. Awards were also given for Corporate Plan Sponsor of the Year and Public Plan Sponsor of the Year.
Institutional Investor solicited nominees for the awards from industry practitioners and service providers. The finalists and winners were chosen by the magazine’s editors.
Shuman and Golden received the awards at a gala dinner at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago on October 23, 2006.
