Leader in Microfinance to Speak at Future of Philanthropy Conference

The keynote speaker at the upcoming Future of Philanthropy Conference, to be held at Yale SOM on November 10, 2006, will be Mary Ellen Iskenderian, President and CEO of Women’s World Banking, a not-for-profit financial institution at the forefront of microfinance globally. Iskenderian has more than twenty years of experience in building financial systems in Asia, Latin America, and Central and Eastern Europe and will address the conference’s theme of “Innovations shaping the landscape of tomorrow.”

The day-long conference will provide opportunities for students and others to learn from some of the top leaders in the field and discuss the changing landscape of philanthropy. Panels will cover topics such as “Philanthropic Investment,” “Corporate Social Responsibility,” and “International Development.”

The conference requires registration, either online or on the day of the event. The fee is $10 for Yale students, $20 for other students, and $50 for community members.
