The China Conference

The International Center for Finance at Yale SOM will be hosting the China Conference at Yale on April 21st and 22nd, 2006. This one of a kind conference is scheduled to provide a forum for scholars and industry experts to present and discuss the various core Chinese industries. Designed around the premise of creating a text that will give an in-depth overview of the industries that are shaping China’s future, this conference is attracting speakers and attendees such as Dr. Fred Hu, Managing Director and Co-head of China Investment Banking, Goldman Sachs (Asia) and David Eldon, Chairman of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce and former Chairman of HSBC Asia.

The event promises to be an excellent venue for all existing and potential investors in China, as well as all those who want to unravel the mystery of the Chinese economy. As each expert speaker will write and present a chapter on a particular industry/market, examining that industry’s past history, current state and future prospects, attendees will gain a rare glimpse into the transition these industries have undergone and an insight into their future development. The format of each session will be a 45-minute presentation, followed by a 15-minute discussion and a 15-minute Q&A from the floor. Along with receptions and the dinner, attendees will have more than ample time to discuss and learn what is driving Chinese economic growth.

Registration is strictly limited to only 200 attendees and participants to ensure an intimate and exclusive setting where interaction will be a critical component of the event’s success. As interest in this event has been overwhelming from the general community, we suggest that alumni who are interested register as soon as possible to guarantee a seat.
