The Professor David Berg Leadership Scholarship Fund
David Berg, Ph.D., professor at the Yale School of Management from 1977-1992, will be honored with a new, endowed scholarship that is to be awarded annually in his name. Established by a generous gift from an anonymous donor, The Professor David Berg Leadership Scholarship will be awarded to an incoming student who has demonstrated, in his or her years since college graduation, a commitment to improving both the humaneness and effectiveness of organizational life through personal and institutional self scrutiny.
Professor David Berg received his B.A. and M.A. from Yale University and his Ph.D. in organizational psychology from the University of Michigan. At Yale SOM, he taught courses in organizational behavior, group dynamics, research methods and organizational diagnosis. A respected scholar, he was also well loved by SOM students and was the 1990 recipient of the SOM Alumni Award in Excellence in teaching. Dr. Berg is currently a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine teaching Leadership Development courses.
It is scholarships like this that strengthen the quality of the student body and allow us to remain true to our mission of educating future leaders. A gift to The Professor David Berg Leadership Scholarship Fund will increase the amount of award money available to students and allow Yale SOM to compete more effectively for top students in this specific area.
