SOM Net Impact Club Hosts First Annual Business and Society Series
This past February, the SOM Net Impact Club (formerly the Double Bottom Line Club) hosted its first annual Business and Society series, a set of three panels featuring socially focused entrepreneurs, community development investors, and corporate social responsibility officials. The events explored the challenge of balancing social mission and financial returns within the private sector and featured a number of Yale School of Management alumni.
Returning to New Haven to speak on community development venture capital were Rick Larson ’85, Managing Director, SJF Ventures, and Nancy Pfund ’82, Managing Director, JPMorgan Bay Area Equity Fund. Attendance at each of the panels filled much of the General Motors Room and featured lively debate from top executives from socially responsible businesses such as Whole Foods, Interface, Seventh Generation, IBM, and United Technologies.
