Fortune Names Three Yale SOM Alumnae -- Indra Nooyi (‘80), Nancy Peretsman (‘79), Wanda Rapaczynski (‘84) -- Among the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business
Fortune magazine has named three Yale School of Management alumnae to its U.S. and international lists of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business 2004.
Indra Nooyi (‘80), President and CFO of PepsiCo, and Nancy Peretsman (‘79), Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Allen & Co., were named to Fortune’s U.S. Power 50 list and Wanda Rapaczynski (‘84), President of Agora, was named to the International Power 50.
All three women are veterans of Fortune’s annual ranking. This year marks the sixth consecutive appearance for Ms. Peretsman, fifth for Ms. Nooyi, and third for Ms. Rapaczynski.
Fortune compiles the lists by ranking the women based on four criteria: the size and importance of her business in the global marketplace; her clout inside her company; her career trajectory; and in certain cases her cultural and social impact.
Fortune wrote of the businesswomen on its 2004 list: “If there is one thing that connects these women, it's that they don't just run things-they build them. These are women whom headhunters adore and whose phone calls you want to return. You should get to know them.”
