Alumni in Sao Paolo kick-off the new Brazilian SOMAA Chapter
Alumni in São Paolo, Brazil had an event on January 7th to kick off the new Brazilian SOMAA Chapter. Anderson Thees '03 reported:
It was very interesting, with people from various years. Besides the interesting exchange of experiences (including a shocking contrast of job markets at graduation) we also had a few ideas for future events, including recurring happy-hours and events together with Yale Alumni at large and the "MBAAB - MBA Alumni Brazil" - an organization of more than 500 Brazilians who attended business schools in the USA or Europe. Barbara Mattos '97 and I represent SOM at MBAAB.
For the kick off, we had: Jon Toscano '97, Claudio Omagari '01, Ricardo M. Cavalheiro '02, Anderson Thees '03, Humberto Soares '03,Thompson Lin '04, Luis Roberto Prandini '05.
I ended up with lots of leftovers, and since a few others returned to Sao Paulo in the following days, we did a second round, nicknamed "LeftOver", on the 23rd. In the second one we had: Gustavo Gasparini '02, Ricardo M. Cavalheiro '02, Anderson Thees '03, Flavia Fonseca '03, Ricardo Joseph '03.
I really enjoyed organizing this event, and hope to have many more in the future.
