Alumni Learn about Wind Energy at a Recent Reception in Boston

SOMAA held their Quarterly Board Meeting in Boston this October. In advance of the meeting, they hosted a reception with a guest speaker from Cape Wind Associates.

Close to 40 alumni came to a Cambridge hotel to reconnect, schmooze, and hear about an extremely timely and controversial topic very relevant to local Boston, as well as national, concerns: a proposed wind farm off Nantucket.

The Cape Wind representative described wind energy's recent technological breakthroughs and addressed its economic competitiveness, as well as the excitement and controversy around it as a source of "clean energy." Cape Wind's Nantucket project would be the country's first offshore wind park.
