CDO Reception is a Smashing Success!

For the 7th consecutive year, the Yale SOM Career Development Office hosted a summer reception at the Yale Club of New York City. The CDO invite recruiters as a thank you to them for their interest and involvement in SOM during the school year. First year students working in New York bring their managers. Local alumni come by and say hello.

About 180 attendees made this year's reception the liveliest ever. Many from the Class of the 2002 came by to mark the first anniversary of their graduation from SOM and updated each other on what they've been doing since then. The Class of 2003 celebrated their recent graduation, and shared stories of the first weeks of new careers. And the Class of 2004 reunited after an entire month of separation! Recruiters from 8 states joined the CDO and the SOM community in the festivities. Alumni from a variety of classes converged to celebrate new jobs or share ideas - sharing business ideas or leads for new positions. The CDO introduced its newest members - Kelly Gallagher, Mary Jane Miller and Wendy Wurtz. Networking at its best!

An estimated 80 SOM alumni came to the reception. Many were from the Classes of 2002 and 2003, but at least 3 people per class were spotted back to 1997. Thanks to all who made this event such a great success!
