Ed Kaplan Elected to National Academy of Engineering
Edward H. Kaplan, the William N. and Marie A. Beach Professor of Management Sciences and Professor of Public Health, was elected to the National Academy of Engineering for his work in the assessment of needle-exchange programs and for generally bringing engineering perspectives to the design of public health policies. Election to the National Academy of Engineering is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to someone in the field. Professor Kaplan is the first Yale SOM professor to receive this high honor.
