Jonathan Ingersoll in Risk Management's Hall of Fame
Jonathan E. Ingersoll, Jr. was named by Risk magazine (Dec. 2002) to its Hall of Fame, recognizing 50 dealers, brokers, end-users, quants and systems developers who have made a profound contribution to the field of risk management. Professor Ingersoll, Adrian C. Israel professor of international trade and finance, was noted for his research on multi-period models of asset valuation research, including the pricing of options and futures, and term structure of interest rates. The Cox-Ingersoll-Ross model, developed in collaboration with John Cox and Stephen Ross in the mid-1970s and published in 1985, provided a consistent way to value interest rate derivatives, and is widely used today.
