Applicants must meet the following criteria and submit the following materials to apply to the Yale School of Management. All materials listed below must be submitted on or before the application deadline you have chosen. The procedures for doing so are explained in the application.

Application Form  

All applicants must complete the application form, which is available online. All instructions for completing the application are contained in the application itself.

Application Fee  

The application fee is $200 and can be paid online by Master Card, Visa, or American Express. You will be prompted to pay the fee after submitting your completed online application. If you are a current or former member of Teach for America, the Peace Corps, StartingBloc, or the U.S. military, email mba.admissions@yale.edu regarding the application fee before submitting your application.

Academic Record   

A four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution or the international equivalent is required to apply to the Yale School of Management. International applicants with a three-year degree from an accredited institution are eligible to apply.

When you apply, you are required to provide a transcript from every college or university you have ever attended. You do not need to submit official transcripts to apply. If admitted, however, you will need to submit official transcripts to enroll. All offers of admission are conditional on the receipt and verification of official transcripts.

Non-English transcripts should be translated into English. If your institution does not provide an English translation with the transcript, please obtain a notarized English translation.

GMAT  

All applicants to the Yale School of Management must take the GMAT exam. There is no minimum score to apply. Have your official score report sent directly to the Yale School of Management. Use the code 3TJ-BX-45. You may request score reports through www.mba.com.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS)  

You must submit a TOEFL or IELTS score unless English is the primary language of instruction at your degree-granting undergraduate or graduate institution. The minimum TOEFL score to apply to the Yale School of Management is 600 for the paper-based test, 250 for the computer-based test, and 100 for the Internet-based test. The minimum IELTS score
is 7.

Have your official score report sent directly to the Yale School of Management. You may request TOEFL score reports through www.toefl.org (use the code 3986) and IELTS score reports through www.ielts.org (no code required).

Recommendations  

You are required to submit two professional recommendations. Ideally, at least one of the recommenders should be in a position to assess your performance at your most recent job.  Recommendation forms can be emailed to recommenders from the online application.

College seniors applying to the Yale School of Management are automatically considered for the Silver Scholars
Program.  As part of the application for this program, applicants must obtain a third recommendation from an academic dean or advisor.  For Yale College seniors, the third recommendation must be from your Residential College Dean.
