Adjunct Professor of Finance

As Yale's chief investment officer, David Swensen is responsible for more than $22.5 billion in endowment assets and other investment funds. Prior to joining Yale in 1985, Professor Swensen spent six years on Wall Street as senior vice president at Lehman Brothers, specializing in the firm's swap activities, and as an associate in Corporate Finance for Salomon Brothers, where his work focused on developing new financial technologies. He authored Pioneering Portfolio Management: An Unconventional Approach to Institutional Investment, which was published by The Free Press in 2000 and Unconventional Success: A Fundamental Approach to Personal Investment, which was published by The Free Press in 2005.
