Lecturer in the Practice of Marketing

Arun Sinha is a global chief marketing officer who has transformed Fortune 100 companies. His speciality is to turnaround a traditional company to become more customer-centric and marketing-driven. He specializes in transforming the image and reputation of a company to become the global leader in their category. He is a frequent media commentator and author of a highly acclaimed business strategy book. He has been recognized as the "Chief Marketing Officer of the Year" by the CMO Institute.

Arun applies a unique organizational change management approach for complete transformation with various stakeholders including employees, customers, investors, regulators, media and opinion leaders. He has transformed more than 22 brands to create growth for companies.

Arun is the global chief marketing officer of Zurich Financial Services, a leading global insurance provider. He overseas all aspects of integrated marketing, brand management, customer insights, web strategy and development, corporate communications, media relations, external and internal communications in over 170 countries with more than 1500 marketing employees worldwide for Zurich. Arun built Zurich’s reputation to be number one insurance company in the world. He consolidated and migrated 63 brands to one Zurich brand. He launched one of the largest global campaigns for any company, Zurich HelpPoint, in more than 140 countries. Arun grew Zurich brand from almost obscurity to become one of the top global 100 brands as measured by Interbrand.

Prior to joining Zurich, Arun served as the chief marketing officer and president of services & solutions of Pitney Bowes. He transformed Pitney Bowes image from a mailing company to a software, services and solutions company. He also held senior executive positions in marketing, business development and brand management at Philip Morris and Young & Rubicam. Arun has transformed companies by building reputation, changing perceptions and growing brand equities of many world-renowned brands and companies.

His achievements have been well recognized. Arun won the "Chief Marketing Officer of the Year" award in 2011 by the CMO Institute and "Marketer of the Year" award by the DMA in 2009. In addition, BtoB magazine named Arun a "Top Marketer of the Year" in 2003 and 2004 while his team received Business Week’s "Excellence in Corporate Advertising" award in 2004. Arun is a frequent media commentator, author of many thought leadership articles and an acclaimed author of the book, Sweet Spot: How to Maximize Marketing for Business Growth.

He serves on the board of directors of the Direct Marketing Association.
