This site can help you to find salary information on a variety of positions. It allows you to evaluate specific positions by various level and provides regional information to help you to compare salaries in different employment markets.

Similar to Salary.com, this site can help you to find salary information on positions, and allow you to evaluate specific positions by various level and also provides regional information to help you to compare salaries in different employment markets.

Career Journal/Salary Tables by Industry
This link is extremely useful for salary survey information. There is also a link on Career Journal to calculate regional salary differences.

BLS.gov
The Bureau of Labor Statistics is a useful site. There is a wealth of information on wages by positions and by region.

Idealist.org
This site provides links to nonprofit salary surveys.

Occupational Outlook Handbook
This guide is included on the BLS.GOV site. It can be helpful in determining employment trends for specific positions and educational backgrounds. There is also useful salary information included throughout this directory.

Although these sites were created to allow candidates to find jobs they serve the equally useful purpose of helping them to conduct informal salary surveys. Go to any of these sites and search jobs by title and region. Many employers do not list salary ranges but many do. Search ALL job titles and then narrow down by region or state.

Executive Recruiters  Top of page

Executive Recruiters can be excellent sources of salary information. You can consult the Executive Search Firm Directory page and attempt to speak with a recruiter from one of the firms listed. If you work with one or two currently, you may want to ask them some specific questions about how you measure up within salary ranges for your discipline and/or industry.
