Please join us for Alternative Energy: An Inside Look at the Realities of Our Global Transition to a Low Carbon, Clean Energy Future. Investment in clean energy companies by private equity and venture capital firms grew by 34% in 2007. Good Energies, a leading global investor in the renewable energy and energy efficiency industry with a portfolio of $5.5 billion, topped the rankings in 2007 for highest number of deals according to New Energy Finance.
This discussion will be led by Good Energies CEO and SOM alumnus Richard Kauffman '83, and Yale SOM Professor Garry Brewer, a well-known policy scientist, author and former Dean of University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources and Environment. Garry will address whether, and to what extent, current efforts can make a meaningful dent in the rapid deterioration of the world’s global resources.
This program will be held in our signature dinner-discussion format in an alumnus’ Manhattan apartment, and promises to be timely and thought-provoking.
