A Gift to Establish the Robert J. Silver '50 Endowed Fund for Innovation
"The business world is getting harder to operate in. If you’re a smart, driven, honest person, how do you deal with those challenges?" Asks John Silver ’90, talking about the importance of maintaining a focus on values within the business framework and how important this challenge was to his father. In funding curriculum reform and programs that emphasize the role of business ethics and values in management education, Robert J. Silver’s family is creating a legacy that has an impact on the issues that mattered to him. The programs that the Silver funds support set new standards for business education to develop the next generation’s passion, responsibility, and accountability. Says daughter Susan de Menil, "Each year we’ll be helping to shape people with a more fully formed sense of identity and purpose, who are motivated by a different set of goals—one of which will be making money. The exciting thing is that it will work."
