Edward J. McKinley '79 & Kathleen A. Lavidge '79
Mr. McKinley is a private investor. Previously he was with Warburg Pincus for 20 years. Between 1993 and 2002, Mr. McKinley was responsible for the firm’s private equity activity in Europe, and served on the firm’s management committee. Before joining Warburg Pincus, he was with McKinsey & Co., Inc., in New York. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors from Stanford University (1974), and holds a Masters in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management (1979).
Mr. McKinley is a director of several companies in his investment portfolio, including Pharmion Corporation (U.S.), Trover Solutions, Inc. (U.S.), Players Post Ltd (U.K.), Resolution Property Ltd (U.K.); and National Angels Ltd (U.K.), and serves on the advisory boards of Englefield Capital and Buttonwood Capital Partners Limited (U.K.). He serves on the advisory board of the Yale School of Management, is a member of the Yale President’s Council on International Activities, and a member of the Development Council for the Royal National Theatre in London.
Kathy is a retired vice president of American Express and former chair of ChildHope U.K., a charity for street children. Kathy has also been involved in volunteering for Yale in many ways. Kathy was a Reunion Committee member for the SOM Class of 1979's 25th Anniversary Reunion and, more recently, was on the advisory board for the 2007 Healthcare Conference organized by the Healthcare Club at Yale SOM. Currently, she serves as an alumni trustee of U.K. Friends of Yale and a member of the Yale Tomorrow Executive Committee. She graduated from Stanford University in 1974 and the Yale School of Management in 1979.
