The strong tradition of annual giving at Yale SOM demonstrates the deep commitment of our alumni to the school and its mission. The Yale SOM Alumni Fund has the highest participation rate of any school at Yale, including Yale College, and has the second highest participation rate among peer business schools. The unrestricted support received through the Alumni Fund is critical for funding both ongoing programs and new strategic initiatives. It would take a $32 million endowment gift to create as much annual revenue for the school as one year of Alumni Fund giving.

Designations

Dean's Priorities

Gifts designated for Dean's Priorities enable the Dean to direct funds where the school needs them most, including underwriting programs and initiatives that directly affect the immediate needs of students and the SOM community.

Curriculum Development

SOM’s integrated MBA curriculum (introduced in 2006) provides students with the critical multi-disciplinary perspectives required to address today’s complex management problems. New cases and courses are always being created to augment Yale’s innovative, real-world approach to learning.

Faculty Research

Yale SOM faculty exemplify the school’s commitment to academic excellence through innovative multidisciplinary research with practical relevance.  The scholarly work of the faculty — both individually and through the school’s research centers — is recognized for its contributions to key emerging research areas such as behavioral finance and corporate governance.

Loan Forgiveness Program

The Yale School of Management Loan
Forgiveness Program was the first of its kind among business schools and is now widely emulated in business and law schools around the country. It underscores the school’s mission of educating leaders for business and society by providing support to qualified recent graduates who choose to work in the public or nonprofit sectors, or for certain socially responsible, for-profit businesses, through a generous educational loan forgiveness program.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Scholarships and financial aid play an important role in creating a diverse and outstanding student body — a defining characteristic and strength of the Yale
SOM community.
