Chad Troutwine, along with Markus Moberg (SOM ’02),
co-founded and owns Veritas Prep, the largest privately-held GMAT preparation and graduate school admissions consulting company in the world. Veritas Prep is located in Malibu, California, but operates in 90 cities around the world and employs more than 400 graduates of the world’s elite graduate schools. Veritas Prep been showcased in the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Forbes, Inside Higher Education, and Inc.
In addition, Chad has produced nine independent films. His films have premiered at the Sundance and Cannes Film Festivals and featured more than a dozen Academy award-winning actors and revered directors including Alex Gibney, Morgan Spurlock, Gus Van Sant, Alfonso Cuaron, Seth Gordon, Alexander Payne, and the Coen Brothers. Magnolia Pictures will release his documentary adaptation of the New York Times Bestseller Freakonomics in October 2010.
Chad was educated at the Harvard Kennedy School, the Missouri School of Law, and the Yale School of Management. At Yale SOM, Chad won the Yale business plan competition and successfully represented SOM in the annual Harvard Business School debate. Forbes magazine named Chad their Future Capitalist for 2002, and Entrepreneur magazine named Chad a Top 20 Trailblazer and Trendsetter for 2009. Chad is a member of the Yale SOMAA Board of Directors.
