Nancy Taylor '91 Executive Director Council of Accountable Physician Practices

Back

" Yale SOM taught me skills in thinking analytically and strategically and taught critical lessons about working with others. These skills became a fundamental base that equipped me with the ability to function and adjust in the workplace. More importantly, Yale inspired an attitude to seek continual learning. The most important outcome from attending Yale SOM was how it encouraged an ongoing desire to be open to new ideas, to want to learn and change, and to want to constantly build a more capable self.

The people I encountered at Yale SOM possessed diverse belief systems and an unsurpassed mix of intellect, courage, curiosity and desire. Through those people and through the culture of the school, you can come to realize the importance of working not just for the good of oneself, but also for the good of others."

As executive director of the Council of Accountable Physician Practices (CAPP), Nancy leads the organization’s efforts to improve the delivery of health care in the United States. CAPP is a consortium of 33 of the nation’s most prominent physician-led multi-specialty group practices, including Mayo Clinic, The Cleveland Clinic, and the Permanente Medical Groups of Kaiser Permanente. CAPP’s member groups are dedicated to improving the quality and efficiency of health care delivery through research, innovation, and policy reform.

Nancy joined CAPP after over fifteen years in health care operations and consulting. Prior to CAPP, Nancy worked in consulting with Mercer Inc.’s National Medical Audit Services and Hamilton/KSA’s Hospital and Health Systems strategy consulting group in the San Francisco Bay Area. Nancy also spent many years with The Permanente Medical Group of Kaiser Permanente in both consulting and operations leadership positions.

Nancy has a master’s in public and private management from the Yale School of Management and an AB in human biology from Stanford University. She is an avid runner having completed two marathons and numerous half-marathons. She is married and lives with her husband and their two children in Moraga, California.
