Shari Rosenfeld, vice president of international projects and business development at Sesame Workshop, oversees the development and execution of local Sesame Street projects around the world. She has worked on local versions of Sesame Street in Israel, Jordan and Palestine, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, Nigeria, South Africa and India, among others. In India, she established Sesame Workshop's first subsidiary office in New Dehli to expand the project's impact through educational outreach initiatives.
Shari also oversees the Sesame Street project in Israel, Rechov Sumsum and has overseen the development of projects in this region since 1996. She resided in Israel from 1996 to 1999 and worked directly with the Palestinian production team to develop a series and educational materials for the first Israeli/Palestinian co-production Rechov Sumsum/Shara’a Simsim. Shari later returned to New York and continued to oversee the project which evolved into a new television production and outreach initiative for Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian children. Shari also launched Sesame Tree in Northern Ireland, a local Sesame Street project designed to address social inclusion goals.
She holds a BA in Political Science from Tufts University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. She currently resides in Riverdale, New York with her husband, four children, and two dogs.
