Markus Moberg '02
Co-Founder & Owner Veritas Prep

Back

"I entered the Class of '02 at the Yale School of Management with the hopes of learning the essentials of business and finance from an inspiring faculty, as well as gaining vast career opportunities upon graduation. I found both. I also found something which I had previously not considered, but that became even more important than my original objectives: relationships. The student body at Yale SOM was the most impressive mix of people I had ever encountered. My brief stint in investment banking exposed me to a group of very intelligent, ambitious, and successful people, but it still did not compare to the diversity of aspirations found at Yale SOM. My business school experience provided me with enduring business contacts, as well as lifelong friendships."

Markus Moberg, along with Chad Troutwine (SOM ’02),
co-founded and owns Veritas Prep, the largest privately-held GMAT preparation and graduate school admissions consulting company in the world. Veritas Prep is located in Malibu, California, but operates in 90 cities around the world and employs more than 400 graduates of the world’s elite graduate schools. Veritas Prep been showcased in the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Forbes, Inside Higher Education, and Inc.

Prior to attending Yale SOM, Markus worked with Schlumberger, an international oil field service provider. During his time as a field engineer, Markus worked in South America, West Africa, the Faeroe Islands in the North Sea, and the Mediterranean. He has also traveled extensively on his own, hiking in the Himalayas, diving in New Zealand, and surfing in Indonesia. An avid photographer, Markus still pursues his passion for exploring the far reaches of the world.

Markus earned a bachelor's degree in economics and computer science at Cornell University before earning an MBA from the Yale School of Management. While at SOM, Markus focused on finance and pursued investment banking, working as a summer associate at Morgan Stanley. After winning the Yale business plan competition, he launched Veritas Prep. In 2009, Markus and Chad graced the cover of Entrepreneur magazine.
