Jay Lindsey is president of Thomas International Publishing Company, Inc., a leading publisher of business information in both print and digital media that reach over one million executives globally. TIPCo produces more than 50 publications through its wholly-owned and partnership enterprises located in the United States, Europe, Turkey, Japan, Brazil, China, and India. These products provide management with news, data, and insights in nine languages for both Fortune 1000 companies and smaller businesses in manufacturing, distribution, and service industries worldwide.
Prior to joining Thomas in 1997, Jay was a senior vice president at Chilton Company, a business publishing subsidiary of Walt Disney/ABC, and served for over ten years as publisher of a national daily business newspaper and more than a dozen other magazines and newsletters. He also held management positions in sales, finance and operations at Capital Cities /ABC, and before that, at the CBS Television Network. He began his career as a television news producer and documentary filmmaker.
Jay is a member of several corporate and institutional boards, including Brandon Petroleum Properties and the Yale Center for Customer Insights, and is managing director of The Chisholm Foundation, a grant-maker to the arts and educational causes. He is a trustee and member of the executive committee of Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. He received a BA in architecture from Columbia University in 1975, and an MBA from the Yale School of Management in 1982.
