Matt is the senior managing director of administration at Teach For America (TFA) where he manages corporate real estate, risk management, and facilities for the organization, and leads a team of 14 staff with a budget of over $7 million. As a senior leader, Matt is charged with supporting the high rate of growth at TFA by developing goals and strategies designed to improve operations and reduce costs at TFA’s 35 regional offices throughout the country. Since becoming the head of administration in 2005, Matt has built an infrastructure consisting of reporting, benchmarking, compliance, and documentation, while initiating improvements in procurement, space utilization, branding, and lease administration. In addition, he has implemented several frameworks which have standardized the office build-out process and saved over 60% in capital cost reductions.
Prior to SOM and TFA, Matt worked as a management consultant for Ernst & Young where he initiated and developed strategies to better manage office space, and led the restructuring of several internal processes to enhance productivity, reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction.
Matt holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania. He is married to his wife Amy, and has 3 children, Matthew, Ashley, and Joshua.
