Phil Davis is a partner in Bain & Company Inc.’s San Francisco office. Phil has led strategy engagements in financial services, technology, and professional services building high-impact solutions for business unit growth, performance improvement, and market entry strategies.

His work in North America, Europe, and Australia has focused in the banking and insurance sectors where he has served clients in retail, small business, and middle market / commercial banking segments on core strategic issues including market expansion, customer segmentation, performance improvement, and competitive positioning. Phil has served leading P&C insurers in driving growth through improved advocacy. He is a member of Bain & Company’s worldwide financial services practice group.

Prior to joining Bain, Phil was a managing director at BearingPoint and North American leader for its strategy group. At BearingPoint, he led cross-industry teams across a variety of solution areas and development of the firm's growth strategy solutions.

Prior to consulting, Phil spent thirteen years at Citibank in line and senior staff positions in New York and San Francisco. His last position was the leader in-charge of commercial banking for the western United States.

He has an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a bachelors degree from University of Pennsylvania.
