Abby M. Adlerman '86
Managing Director Russell Reynolds Associates

Back

"The tenets of Yale SOM’s education have provided me with a valuable foundation throughout my career. My time at Yale gave me an appreciation for the importance of working across sectors, harnessing the most from individual and group contributors, and how much we can learn from each others’ varying perspectives."

As a partner at Russell Reynolds Associates, Abby has served in a number of leadership capacities for the privately held global search and assessment firm. She joined RRA as managing director and area manager for the San Francisco office, and went on to become leader of the firm’s America’s Private Equity Practice concurrently. Abby moved to RRA’s Singapore office in June 2010 to lead the build out of the firm’s Asia Pacific Private Equity Practice. She also serves as chair of the global executive director, associate and researcher committee, an executive committee-like initiative to guide the non-shareholder professionals of the firm in their long term success at RRA.

Abby joined RRA in 2005 with almost 20 years of experience that she was able to quickly translate to her client’s and the firm’s needs. Her background includes 15 years as an investment banker, a career she started right out of SOM. She had the opportunity to advise clients on capital formation and corporate growth strategies including numerous financings and M&A transactions. In addition she played a leadership role in growing two businesses and a range of management positions in her Wall Street experience. She also spent five years leading a private-equity backed company as CEO which gave her first hand knowledge leveraging the banking skills she had already acquired and the talent acquisition competencies she now brings to clients.

Abby has served or currently serves on the boards of organizations in both the nonprofit space, with a bent towards education, as well the private sector, mostly in the consumer segment. She is also on the board of trustees for the Bay Area Council, a public policy economic advocacy group based in San Francisco with special initiatives in the Asia Pacific region.

Abby has a master's degree in public and private management from the Yale School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Lafayette College.
