Tom Ascheim has spent twenty-five years working in the media and entertainment world. From 2007-2010 he was the CEO of Newsweek, where he relaunched the magazine and website, and oversaw the sale of the company in 2010. Before Newsweek, Ascheim spent seventeen years at Viacom. From 2004-2007 he ran Nickelodeon’s $1.5 billion television businesses as EVP, general manager, Nickelodeon Television. Starting in 1998, Ascheim established and led Nickelodeon’s digital networks group which built the preschool TV and online brand Noggin and the teen TV and digital brand The N. Ascheim joined Nickelodeon as its first business development executive in 1990. He was named vice president, entertainment products in 1993, and in 1994 was named vice president, product and business development for Viacom New Media.
Ascheim graduated cum laude with a BA degree in American Studies from Yale University in 1985, and earned his MPPM from the Yale School of Management in 1990.
