Robert Mulroy is the president and CEO of Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, an emerging biopharmaceutical company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mr. Mulroy joined Merrimack's board of directors in 2000, and assumed the position of president and CEO in 2001. Previously, he served as the president and CEO of Atlantic Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. (ABI), where he led a complete financial and operating turnaround prior to its merger with Merrimack.
Prior to joining ABI, Mr. Mulroy worked as a management consultant in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry while serving as a member of the senior management team of Vertex Partners. He has also worked as an advisor to governments in the field of international development and formation of biotechnology clusters.
Mr. Mulroy has lectured extensively on topics related to the pharmaceutical industry at the University of Cambridge, Princeton, Harvard Medical School, and M.I.T. He holds a BA from Stanford University and a master's degree in public and private management from the Yale School of Management.
