Yale SOM United Soccer Club Hosts Annual Yale Cup

The Yale SOM United Soccer Club hosted the 17th Annual Yale Cup soccer tournament October 7-8, 2006. The tournament attracted players from many of the nation's top business schools. While the action on the field was competitive, the SOM United Soccer Club also held get-togethers and networking events.

Sixteen teams competed in a round robin on Saturday to determine who should advance to the quarterfinals on Sunday. Yale SOM tied with McGill (2-2) but was defeated by Harvard (2-1) and Duke (2-1). On Sunday, MIT, Wharton, Harvard, and the Yale Medical School all won their first matches and moved on to the semifinals. The Yale Medical School took the win in the final match against Wharton and went home with the cup.
