| Silver Scholars |
The Silver Scholars Program admits a select handful of college seniors to a three-year MBA program at Yale SOM. Silver Scholars are chosen for their combination of intelligence and common sense, maturity and curiosity, passion and compassion. They each have made a difference and distinguished themselves in their field of interest. We are looking for people who will be future leaders in business, government, and nonprofit endeavors.
Admitting students directly from college is unusual for an MBA program. Because we believe that students need extended work experience to obtain the full value of an MBA, the Silver Scholars will participate in a one-year internship after completing the first year of the core MBA program. They then return to campus to complete their MBA courses.
Some of the Silver Scholars will be awarded a merit scholarship for each of the two academic years in the program.
Silver Scholars have secured internships at organizations such as Sky Television (London), Booz Allen Hamilton (Mid-East), Pfizer, CARE, Monitor Group (South Africa), KickStart, The Wall Street Journal, Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, Time Magazine (London), and Real Networks. Graduates of the Silver Scholars Program have gone onto full-time positions at Citigroup, British Petroleum, Boston Consulting Group, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Google, The New York Times, Mercy Corps., and Yale Law School.
The application deadlines and requirements for the Silver Scholars program are the same as for the full-time MBA program with the following additions:
We encourage potential applicants to schedule a campus visit. Please email silverscholar@som.yale.edu with questions about the program.
